Feast Day of St. Teresa of Jesus (also known as St. Teresa of Avila) on Oct 15th. St. Teresa was a Discalced Carmelite nun who reached the highest degree of prayer and obtained such knowledge of divine things that in 1970 Pope St. Paul VI named her the first woman Doctor of the Church. The Secular Discalced Carmelite Community of St. Louis and St. Zélie Martin will hold a celebration in honor of St. Teresa of Jesus on Wednesday, Oct. 15 starting with Mass at 6 pm at Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Stratford. A brief social will follow with light refreshments. Everyone is welcomed to join us.
