Our new Pastor, Fr. George Palamattam CMI is a religious priest of the Community of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I). He did his priestly studies at Dharmaram Pontifical Institute in Bangalore, India (B.Ph), and Pontifical Atheneum, Pune, India (B.Th.). After completing his studies in commerce (B. Com and M.Com), George began teaching as a faculty member in the department of commerce and Business at the Sacred Heart College of the Kerala University, India.

George was ordained priest of the CMI Community in the year 1978, and continued his teaching career under Kerala University. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Educational Administration in 1992.  He has served as Principal of two University Colleges in the Kerala State of India. He has also rendered services as member of All India Association of Christian Higher Education in India and as a founding member and president of the commerce Teachers Association of India. Fr. George has held positions as member of National Assessment Accreditation Council of the University Grants Commission of the government of India and joined as chief coordinator for helping Gujrat Earth-Quake victims. He is a public speaker, writer and author.

From 2004 onwards, he has been serving the Catholic parish communities in Canada, – as Pastor of Parishes of St. Patrick’, St. Lawrence, Holy family and Sacred hearts of the Hamilton diocese. We are happy to welcome him now to our Holy Redeemer Parish, in Charlottetown. Welcome, dear Fr. George.
